Dr. Greg DeNaeyer and Dr. Donald Sanders, in collaboration with Drs. Eef van der Worp, Jason Jedlicka, Langis Michaud, and Sheila Morrison, founded the Scleral Shape Study Group (SSSG) to further research into scleral shape as it impacts scleral lens fitting. Dr. Maria Walker has subsequently joined this group and a second paper on the strong correlation between corneal and scleral shape irregularities. It has been published in the Journal of Contact Lens Research & Science (2019): Correlation of Corneal and Scleral Topography in Cases with Ectasias and Normal Corneas.
