Sample Lens ID:
310123-1R
310123 = order number

R = right eye
Location:
Lens IDs will be located infero-temporally for lenses that are rotationally stabilized.

Insertion Markings

All patient lenses have horizontal (3 & 9 o’clock) hashmark insertion markings & inferior drill dots. The right lens will have a single drill dot and the left will have 2 drill dots.
Right Eye (OD)
1 Drill Dot
Left Eye (OS)
2 Drill Dots
Insertion drill dots can be black, white or clear (Doctor/Patient Preference) and should always be inserted so that they are at the bottom. Please note that spherical designs that are not rotationally stabilized will not have horizontal hashmarks and the dot(s) do not need to be inferiorly positioned.

Fitting Set (Dx) Lenses

Our fitting set lens marking system has not changed, with the exception of the new addition of a laser engraved serial numbers.

Laser Lens ID

All fitting set lenses* will include a laser engraved serial number.
Sample Lens ID:
T2-46
T2 = lens # in fitting set
46 = Base curve
Location:
Lens IDs will be located adjacent to hashmarks for toric lenses or the dot for Elevate lenses.
Documentation:
Lens IDs will be included on all Order Confirmations and Invoices.

No. The unique Lens ID will be located infero-temporally (for all rotationally stabilized lenses) on the sclera. When the lens is placed on the eye, it is not visible to the naked eye while at a normal distance. The Lens ID has an extremely shallow depth (much less than the standard hashmarks or drill dots) and is polished to ensure a smooth surface that will not affect lens comfort.

There is no additional cost to you (or your patient)! Visionary Optics has worked very hard to be able to integrate this into our standard manufacturing procedures ensuring that you are not incurring any extra charges. These serial numbers will ensure unique identification for both you and your patient and help us work together to remove all risk of lens mix-ups (whether it be between newer/older or right/left lenses).

Notate & Communicate Rotation!

Note where your hashmarks rotate to (clock hours or degrees).
It is important to make note of and communicate if any rotation is observed. This will be especially helpful if you incorporate front toricity at any point during the fit.
